Vermicelli
INGREDIENTS
• 1 packet vermicelli (150g)
• ½ cup ghee (Clarified butter)/butter (unsalted)
• 2 cardamons
• 1 Cinnamon stick
• 1 cup hot water+¾ cup hot milk.
• 1 cup sugar
• Few saffron threads
• Sultanas & Sliced almonds to sprinkle.
PREPARATION
• Braise vermicelli, elaichie, cinammon stick in ghee (Clarified butter) until pink.
• Add water/milk cover and cook until soft on low heat allowing the water to absorb but not dry.
• Add sugar and crushed Zafran (saffron), toss in sultanas and badam (almond) (save some for garnishing ) mix well and cook for few minutes. Or put in oven gas mark 4 for 10 -15 minutes.
• Sprinkle almonds & sultanas over.
